Virucidal efficacy testing is the process of evaluating the effectiveness of products in combating viruses. It is an essential step in ensuring that your products are safe and effective for use in hospitals, homes, and other environments where there is risk of spreading infection. We understand the importance of ensuring that your EPA-registered products, antimicrobial surfaces, and textiles are effective at fighting off harmful viruses and other microorganisms. Our dedicated virology testing department offers a range of testing options to meet your specific product needs.
Disinfectant Efficacy and Registration Testing
Our disinfectant claim testing is designed to evaluate the efficacy of disinfectant products in compliance with EPA 810 guidelines. Nelson Labs offers a comprehensive additional virucidal claims testing service following the ASTM E1053 to evaluate the efficacy of disinfectants against viruses on non-porous surfaces. For products needing base claim or other addition organism specific claim, we offer bundle options.
We also offer virucidal suspension testing to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of solvent and water-soluble products. These studies follow the EN 14476 and ASTM E1052 standards. Custom time-kill and suspension tests can also be designed to meet your products specific data needs.
Antiviral Claims for Fabrics, Finishes, and Surfaces
Our comprehensive surface and textile testing services are designed to evaluate the antimicrobial properties of your products. With these tests you can be confident that your products are effective at fighting off harmful bacteria and other microorganisms. For textiles and fabrics we offer timepoint-specific antiviral-efficacy evaluations following the ISO 18184 standard. For hard, non-porous surfaces, we offer a similar antiviral evaluation following the ISO 21702 standard. Both of these standards can be evaluated within standard time points as well as residual efficacy. For products requiring specific data generation, custom study designs are available.
Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) Testing
In addition to common strain testing, Nelson Labs also offers testing for a variety of other viruses and biohazardous organisms. Our biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) organism testing is designed to evaluate the effectiveness of products against challenging microorganisms, such as SARS-COV-2, monkeypox virus, and influenza H7N9. We offer all of our antimicrobial tests and standard methodologies in both BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories. Please contact one of our experts to discuss specific study design regarding BSL-3 organism efficacy evaluations.
At our Nelson Labs Bozeman facility we use the latest technologies and methodologies to provide accurate and reliable results. Our team of experts is dedicated to ensuring that your products meet the highest standards of efficacy and safety.
