Nelson Labs Europe Appoints Dr. Andrew Teasdale as Principal Consultant to Lead Strategic Expansion into Pharmaceutical Impurities Testing
Leuven, Belgium — October 1, 2025 — Nelson Labs Europe, a global leader in Extractables & Leachables (E&L) testing, is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Andrew Teasdale as Principal Consultant. He will further deepen the company’s established expertise in pharmaceutical impurities testing and lead its strategic expansion in this critical domain. Dr. Teasdale joins forces with Nelson Labs following a distinguished career at AstraZeneca, where he was globally recognized as a leading expert in pharmaceutical impurities, including N-Nitrosamines, genotoxic impurities, and elemental impurities.
This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in Nelson Labs Europe’s evolution, as the Company further strengthens and expands on its pharmaceutical impurities testing capabilities—an increasingly critical area for the pharmaceutical industry. While E&L testing and the associated structure elucidation of organic impurities remains the core of Nelson Labs’ business, this new focus will allow the company to offer a broader range of analytical services to its clients.

“Having retired from AZ I have continued to look to address issues relating to impurities and strive to develop understanding and control over them. To this end I establish a consultancy business, AT CMC solutions limited in February 2025 and since this point have established a healthy client base. The missing piece is alignment of my core business with a world leading analytical laboratory. I’m therefore delighted to be working with Nelson Labs at a time when pharmaceutical impurity testing is becoming increasingly critical,” states Dr. Andrew Teasdale. “Nelson Labs has a strong foundation in analytical science, particularly in the area of extractables and leachables, and I look forward to contributing to the expansion of their capabilities in impurity assessment.”
In his new role, Dr. Teasdale will:
- Develop and optimize study protocols for a wide range of pharmaceutical impurities, including N-Nitrosamines, genotoxic impurities, and elemental impurities.
- Provide strategic and technical guidance to support Nelson Labs Europe’s growth in pharmaceutical testing.
- Offer expert consultancy to clients requiring advanced scientific and regulatory support.
