Nelson Labs Will Present on Medical Device Sterilization at MD&M Texas

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – April 28, 2014 – Nelson Laboratories (www.nelsonlabs.com) will present Medical Device Sterilization: Selection of Sterility Assurance Level (SAL), Evaluation of Bioburden Data, Alert and Action Levels of Bioburden Excursions at MD&M Texas May 7-8, 2014 at the Fort Worth Convention Center, and will be available for consultation at booth 523.

Martell Winters, Senior Scientist at Nelson Laboratories, will speak at a Learning Lab on Thursday May 8 at 10:00-11:45 a.m. CDT. He will present information that will help medical device manufacturers understand sterility assurance and bioburden data.

“I will discuss the necessity of a 10-6 sterility level, and will address the use of necessary levels of bioburden data to ensure proper sterilization,” Winters said. “My presentation will be especially applicable to sterilization of combination products, biologics, and tissues.”

In addition to the Learning Lab, Winters will present at the Tech Theater Wednesday May 7 at 1:00-1:30 p.m. His presentation will be, “Updates to the Bioburden Standard ISO 11737-1: Significant Additional Guidance— P.S. What Happened to the Microbiologists?”
