Iris Destoop obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Sciences at KU Leuven in 2016. Immediately following the completion of her doctoral studies, she joined Nelson Labs Europe as a Scientific Project Manager specializing in extractables and leachables (E&L) testing for the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout her career, Iris has been responsible for the scientific oversight and management of E&L studies, supporting the development and regulatory compliance of orally inhaled, nasal, topical/transdermal, and oral drug products. She works closely with pharmaceutical clients to design testing strategies, interpret analytical results, and ensure studies meet the relevant regulatory expectations. Since 2021, Iris has served as Team Lead of the Scientific Project Management team focusing on E&L programs for orally inhaled, nasal, topical/transdermal, and oral drug products.
