For the past three to four decades biocompatibility testing has remained relativity unchanged with basically a few simple steps to be followed, which have included looking at your device, comparing it to a chart, and doing the suggested testing. With the recent publication of ISO 10993-23, animal-free irritation testing is now being performed side by side with its animal-test counterpart. Current revisions to 10993-1 are emphasizing less animal testing and more alternative approaches.
In this webinar Thor Rollins discusses the proposed changes to and outlook of ISO 10993-1 and the general response from the regulatory community regarding alternative testing approaches resulting from the publication of ISO 10993-23. Watch this webinar and walk away with a clearer picture of the alternatives to animal testing and a better idea of what the alternatives might be next year and in the years to come.
