Mahler PhD CEO – ten23 health AG
Dr. Mahler is currently CEO and Board Member at ten23 health AG and its affiliate, swissfillon, the human-centric and sustainable pharmaceutical development partner. From 2015 to mid-2021, Dr. Mahler has been building and leading the Drug Product Services (DPS) Business Unit at Lonza AG, a leading service provider for the Pharma and Biotech industry. Prior this position, he worked at Hoffmann-LaRoche (Basel), leading Pharmaceutical Development & Supplies, Biologics EU, and having built up Formulation R&D for biologics at Roche (2005-2015). From 2000-2005, Dr. Mahler worked at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany as Principal Formulation Scientist, Lab Manager for Protein Formulation Development and Clinical Trial Manufacturing and CMC Team leader for Erbitux. Dr. Mahler studied Pharmacy at the University of Mainz, Germany, holds a Ph.D. in Toxicology from the Institute of Pharmacy, University of Mainz and Pharmacist specialization degrees in Toxicology & Ecology and Pharmaceutical Technology. He was further trained in Economy and Marketing. Dr. Mahler obtained his venia legendi (German Habilitation) from the University of Frankfurt/Germany in 2010 and is currently an adjunct faculty and lecturer at the universities of Frankfurt (Germany), and Basel (Switzerland). He was elected an AAPS Fellow in November 2013, nominated extraordinary Professor for Pharmaceutical Technology in November 2015 and received the PDA Distinguished Service Award in 2018. He serves as Scientific Expert at Group 12 (Ph.Eur.) at the European Directorate for Quality of Medicines & Healthcare (EDQM), and as Editor for Pharm.Res., J.Pharm.Sci., PDA J Pharm Sci Technol, and AAPS Open J and published more than 125 manuscripts, is co-inventor of more than 50 patents and contributed to various books. In addition, Dr. Mahler serves as Board member at Bionter AG, revolutionizing analytical testing for patients benefit, and KriyaBio SA, delivering biologics beyond barriers.
