Iris Destoop, PhD, Senior E&L Expert, will be presenting “Extractables & Leachables Testing of Blow-Fill-Seals” on july 5 at 10 am.
Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) is a rapidly growing production process used for a variety of sterile applications such as ophthalmic, inhalation and parenteral products. The materials used for the formation of the primary container are often polyolefin based and therefore typically semi-permeable. This makes these presentations potentially more prone to introduction of leachables originating from the secondary and tertiary packaging items, such as labels, printing inks, aluminium foils, but also leaflets and carton boxes. This presentation will share insights in designing and executing Extractables & Leachables studies on BFS.
