Tests available for General Routine Testing

Microbial limits USP 61

The microbial limits test includes a standard plate count for total aerobic bacteria and molds and yeasts. In addition a screening is performed for the presence of Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pseudomonas cepacia, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella sp. The microbial limits test may be modified for specific testing needs.

Plate Counts USP 28

The standard plate count procedure provides a standardized mean of determining the density of heterotrophic bacteria in samples.  This is an empirical measurement because organisms occur singly, in pairs, clusters, or packets, and no single growth medium or set of physical and chemical conditions can satisfy the physiological requirements of all organisms in a sample.

Microbial analysis of water, Pseudomonas screen only USP 61

Bioburden testing ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11737, ISO 11135, EN 1174

Bioburden testing is done to determine the total number of viable microorganisms in or on a medical device, container or component after completion of all in-process steps before sterilization.
