Mold identification
Molds are currently identified at Nelson Labs to Genus level through classical microbiology techniques such as morphology of the organism as viewed under a microscope as well as macroscopically. Our ID staff has more than 30 years of experience in identifying molds through these methods.
An additional Microbial Id's form is recommended when submitting samples for this study.
Study Outline
Molds are regularly identified using lactophenol cotton blue preparation. The cells are observed under microscope and identified by trained microbiologists using current references.
